About the Creighton Hotel
Since the early 1980’s the hotel has been run by generations of the McCarville family, who are dedicated to ensure that the great history and reputation of the Hotel is continued for many years to come.
The Creighton hotel is iconic building situated on lower Fermanagh Street on the junction with the Newtownbutler road locally known as Creighton Corner. The hotel was built in 1884 by Creighton Duggan. Although the hotel has undergone major refurbishments over the years, the previous and current owners have all ensured that the hotel has retained its great architectural aspects throughout.
In the last number of years the Creighton Hotel has undergone major refurbishment, to ensure that our customers are ensured not only great Irish Hospitality from our professional staff, but great facilities to compliment our fantastic food:
Refurbishment:
2011: Main reception and canal bar all refurbished. This refurbishment included installing our beautiful marble fireplace, which with the open fire ensures our customers are greeted with a warm welcome.
2012: The hotel was extended to incorporate the Buttermarket gatehouse building “The Snug”. This popular area has all the great heritage features of the 1884 buttermarket yet with a contemporary interior suitable for small parties up to 20 people. The Snug assess the Butteryard Car-Park and the new Hotel Butteryard terrace, which is the perfect location to relax when the climate allows. Wheelchair accessible.
2013: The hotels refurbishment continued with the main dining area refurbished and renamed “Leo’s Restaurant”. The restaurant has a sheek new interior, and with the addition of a bar, it is the perfect location for your private/functions up to 80 people.
Late 2013: Main Function Room, the main function room had a complete facelift which included toilets, bar and décor, resulting in a facility perfect for Weddings, parties and conferences.
Early 2014: This year started with the focus on our accommodation sector, with our bedrooms being refurbished so that we can offer our guests the highest possible standard of accommodation services. Our bedroom refurbishment is now completed and the hotel can now offer a variety of rooms ranging from single to suites.
December 2015: Opening of the Buttermarket which has restored some of the original features. The Buttermarket at the Creighton Hotel is ideal for family get togethers, parties, christening.
2017: Outside terrace and garden completed from Buttermarket and function room providing additional space and private outside area for customers.
2019: Creighton Suite underwent a major revamp. This included new interior and latest state fo the art technology for conferencing facilities.
2020: Main bar redecorated during covid lockdown.
2021: Meeting point at the Creighton Hotel - Extension of outdoor seating area in line with Covid guidelines. New coffee dock added providing the perfect backdrop for meeting up with friends and family once covid restrictions are lifted and vaccine rollout.
We now have WiFi throughout the hotel.
